The Adoptee Film fest aims to Establish the need for adoptee centered adoption narratives by adoptees in film, media and entertainment.
The Blindside (2009), Blue Bayou (2021) and Joy Ride (2023) didn’t have a single adoptee involved in the creation of their films. Unfortunately this demonstrates a larger trend amongst the entertainment industry.

SUBMIT YOUR FILM:
Film Creator, Director, Writer or Producer must be an Adoptee
Film must be 15 mins or under (no minimum length required)
Film must touch on the Adoptee experience in some way
JOIN OUR SELECTION COMMITTEE
The Selection Committee selects and rates film submissions for the festival. While we encourage all adoptees to apply, we will prioritize selection of adoptees affiliated with the film and entertainment industry. Up to 10 spots will be available!

We will be screening selected shorts on November 20th, 2024 at Caveat NYC as well as livestreaming globally at 7PM EST.
